The film was motivated by a strong sense of curiosity towards a world that supported the fringes of society. I wanted to know who dwelled in this faded legendary land known as Coney Island.
I spent over a year filming the characters and atmosphere of Coney Island and still continue to do so. I met Amos Wengler on my first shoot and instantly knew Coney Island was his home.
The story of change and faded memories made the perfect backdrop to explore the social interactions of Coney Island socialites. Focusing around the traveling troubadour allowed for the story to explore many layers of Coney Island’s redevelopment.
